The Macro Photography Explore workshop will walk you through the hidden and often beautiful world we rarely get to see.

The use of macro lenses, the kinds of subjects and the accessories we need will all be covered and demonstrated. What macro lens is best? How much magnification?

We will look at flowers at close range, discuss abstract composition and the challenge of Depth of Field at high magnification. We will then go further looking for little creatures that call flowers Home. Bugs and their relatives.

In the afternoon we will review our work giving us the benefit of seeing the images while the experience of shooting them is fresh in our mind. Using Lightroom we will see how to review, and examine our images for detail and quality. By completing the cycle of shooting and then reviewing you will learn the precision and the power of your DSLR camera that heretofore may have remained hidden. We have tested this class format and students love it.

The explore workshops are designed for people who have had one of the Jumpstart DSLR workshops. If you are interested and have not taken one of these PhotoTrainer classes, and are an intermediate level photographer you are welcome to join us; do nevertheless, call Tom before signing up. (650)325-8120.

For improved learning, we limit our class size to 6 people.

Please note this workshop teaches the DSLR camera. You need one of these cameras to participate in a class. Please read “Is your camera a DSLR?” to determine if your camera is a Single Lens Reflex camera.
