Is your camera a DSLR?
PhotoTrainer workshops teach the DSLR camera. You need one of these cameras to participate in a class.
We only teach point and shoot cameras in private one on one sessions. There are abundant sources to get training on the Point and Shoot and “Bridge” “Prosumer” cameras available with a simple search on the internet.
To determine if your camera is a Single Lens Reflex camera it is simple; you can remove the lens completely; lenses are interchangeable; and you have an optical viewfinder.
Some new cameras being touted as DSLRs have removable lenses but no viewfinders, these are Micro four thirds cameras and are essentially point and shoot rangefinder, still video cameras.
If your camera has PowerShot or Coolpix in the name it is not a SLR. If your viewfinder is a magnified video display; or your camera has a large lens but does not come off of the camera body it is not an SLR. Do not confuse this with adapters that screw onto your current lens.
